St. Luke’s Medical Center has launched the country’s first dedicated Inhaler Clinic Service in Global City to improve treatment for patients with asthma, COPD, and other lung conditions. The clinic aims to address widespread problems in inhaler use, as studies show most patients do not use their devices correctly, resulting in poor symptom control and more frequent attacks.
Staffed by pulmonologists and respiratory therapists, the clinic provides personalized coaching on inhaler and nebulizer techniques, monitors treatment adherence, and helps fix device-related issues such as improper technique or device mismatch among elderly patients. It also offers structured education for patients and caregivers to support at-home management.
St. Luke’s says proper device use can reduce asthma and COPD flare-ups, improve medication absorption, and lower emergency room visits. The clinic welcomes referrals for newly diagnosed patients, those with uncontrolled symptoms, individuals making repeated inhaler errors, people on multiple devices, and anyone unsure about their prescribed inhalers.
