The Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF), together with Toyota Motor Philippines Foundation and the University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), has rolled out the HEAL Mobile Clinic, a healthcare initiative that brings hospital-grade diagnostic services directly to underserved communities through mobility-driven solutions.
Launched under the Healthcare Mobility for All (HEAL) Program, the project deploys two mobile clinic units built on Toyota Coaster vehicles.
The first unit is now operating in Ternate, Cavite, following a soft launch on December 19, 2025. It has begun phased operations offering Chest X-ray and Electrocardiogram (ECG) services, with full laboratory diagnostics to be introduced in succeeding stages.
Each HEAL Mobile Clinic functions as a self-contained healthcare facility capable of delivering eight essential diagnostic tests: Chest X-ray, ECG, HbA1c, urinalysis, complete blood count, lipid profile, blood sugar testing, and creatinine analysis. These services support early detection and monitoring of high-burden diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular conditions, and respiratory illnesses.
The Ternate unit is expected to serve approximately 28,000 residents, many of whom previously traveled more than two hours to access specialized diagnostics at UP-PGH in Manila.
By operating from the Municipal Health Office, the mobile clinic reduces travel by nearly 100 kilometers round trip, easing both patient burden and congestion at tertiary hospitals. The local government unit provides on-site support, while UP-PGH manages medical personnel and clinical oversight.
A second mobile clinic will be deployed to serve communities near New Clark City in Tarlac. Both units feature digital self-check-in and automated booking systems to streamline patient flow, reflecting HEAL’s focus on scalable, efficient, and community-centered healthcare delivery.
