Coins.ph plugs peso into global payments

Coins.ph, the Philippines’ leading crypto-native financial services platform, has joined the Circle Payments Network (CPN) to enable faster, lower-cost cross-border payments into the country, strengthening access to near-instant Philippine peso (PHP) settlements for institutions, enterprises, platforms, and end users.

Through its role as a beneficiary financial institution (BFI) on CPN, Coins.ph now provides payout capabilities across its domestic network of more than 120 local banks and e-wallets. This allows participating financial institutions on the network to offer direct, local-currency disbursements in pesos, using compliant, blockchain-powered payment rails.

The integration is designed to modernize how global funds move into the Philippines, reducing friction caused by legacy correspondent banking systems. By enabling near-real-time settlement and streamlined reconciliation, Coins.ph said the partnership improves speed, transparency, and predictability across the payment lifecycle.

For end users—particularly overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families—the enhanced infrastructure translates into lower transaction costs, more competitive foreign exchange rates, and faster access to funds. Businesses and platforms also benefit from real-time payment status updates, helping them better manage cash flow and customer experience.

“Joining Circle Payments Network makes the Philippine peso a native part of the internet economy,” said Wei Zhou, chief executive officer of Coins.ph. He said the integration reduces the costs and delays typically associated with cross-border transfers while improving the reliability of local payouts.

Circle senior vice president for Product Management, Payments Irfan Ganchi said the collaboration strengthens local payment capabilities in a key Southeast Asian market. He added that the partnership supports compliant, real-time settlement and advances a more inclusive and interoperable global financial system.

The move positions Coins.ph as a critical bridge between global payment networks and the Philippine financial ecosystem, as demand grows for faster, digitally native cross-border payment solutions.
