    HCLTech expanding operations, widening footprint

HCL Technologies Philippines Inc. is gearing up for a bigger footprint, with plans to expand operations over the next two to three years and funnel more global accounts into the country, according to the Board of Investments.

BOI said the technology services provider shared updates on both new and pipeline initiatives in Metro Manila, while reaffirming its intent to bring additional international customers to the Philippines as part of its long game.

The expansion roadmap was discussed during a February 2 meeting at the BOI’s Makati headquarters between HCLTech Philippines executives, led by Country Head Roopesh Mishra, and senior investment promotion officials. The BOI delegation was headed by Investments Promotion Services Executive Director Evariste M. Cagatan and International Investments Promotion Service Director Lanie O. Dormiendo.

While the company has kept project costs under wraps, the BOI said the planned scale-up is expected to generate new jobs and reinforce the Philippines’ position as a strategic hub for information technology, business process management, and digital services.

HCLTech established local operations in 2010 and has steadily expanded its workforce and service portfolio since then, riding the country’s deep talent pool and growing reputation for complex, high-value work.

For policymakers, the planned expansion fits neatly into the government’s push to attract innovation-driven investments that move the IT-BPM sector up the value chain. For HCLTech, it signals confidence that the Philippines can deliver not just volume, but sophistication, for a demanding global client base.

Taken together, the message is clear: the company is betting that scale, skills, and stability will keep the Philippines firmly on the shortlist of destinations for multinational digital transformation work in the years ahead for global clients.
