Construction giant EEI Corp. has raised the bar for workforce development with the official opening of the EEI Training Academy, a state-of-the-art facility spanning nearly three hectares in Tanza, Cavite. The launch was marked by the awarding of a Certificate of TVET Program Registration, formally recognizing the Academy as a TESDA-accredited training and assessment center.
The new facility is a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the skills, knowledge, and competitiveness of EEI’s Filipino workforce, as the construction industry faces increasing demand for efficiency, sustainability, and technical excellence.
Designed to accommodate up to 500 trainees at a time, the Academy delivers holistic training for both craft workers and professional staff.

“The Academy reflects our vision to not only attract the best talent, but to nurture and retain them,” said EEI Training Academy President Jesus Teodoro C. Reyes. “While we are known for building physical foundations, we are equally committed to building a strong foundation for our human capital.”
The Academy offers industry-caliber programs in civil, mechanical, electrical, and modular construction works. Training covers carpentry, masonry, rebar works, welding, pipe fitting, scaffolding, heavy equipment operation, electrical and instrumentation, and other core construction competencies.
Beyond technical skills, the Academy also integrates values formation, leadership, safety, and professional development programs.

Reyes emphasized that values formation plays a crucial role in improving workplace performance, relationships, and overall employee well-being.
Courses on communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and self-improvement complement technical instruction.
As a TESDA-accredited center, the Academy follows national training regulations, ensuring competency-based education aligned with industry standards and uniform assessment practices.
TESDA oversight also guarantees trainer qualifications, standardized facilities, and continuous program improvement.
EEI Training Academy Vice President Victor C. Evidente underscored the long-term value of the initiative. “Capacity-building is fundamental to sustaining excellence in construction. By empowering our people, we build resilience and secure a strong foundation for long-term growth.”
The campus features modern classrooms, workshops, trainee barracks, recreation areas, and specialized buildings, signaling EEI’s bet that the future of construction depends as much on people as on projects.
