GSIS posts P344B in 2025 income as assets near P2 trillion

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) reported strong financial results in 2025, with total assets reaching P1.96 trillion, up 8.2 percent from 2024, putting the fund close to the P2 trillion mark.

Total income grew 6.4 percent to P344.47 billion, driven by insurance revenues and investment returns. Social insurance contributed the bulk at P212.17 billion, while general insurance premiums rose 10.8 percent to P11.39 billion due to more new and renewed policies.

Investment income from financial assets added P76.55 billion, supporting the fund’s ability to meet long-term pension obligations. Net operational income totaled P137.74 billion.

GSIS also released P194 billion in claims and benefits last year, exceeding the previous year’s payouts. GSIS President Wick Veloso credited disciplined fund management for the strong performance. “Every peso in this fund belongs to a government worker who expects it to be there when they retire or when their family needs it,” he said.
