A new partnership between Greenstrum and Huawei is set to boost the rollout of high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in the Philippines, supporting the sector’s gradual shift toward mainstream adoption.
Greenstrum, the EV charging solutions unit of ACMobility, has been named a Certified Sales and Service Provider for Huawei Digital Power. The tie-up enables the local firm to deploy and maintain Huawei’s integrated charging systems nationwide, introducing some of the fastest EV charging technologies currently available in the country.
These include 240 kW SuperFast and 480 kW UltraFast chargers, capable of delivering significant range in as little as 10 to 15 minutes for compatible vehicles.
Designed for high utilization, the systems can support multiple vehicles simultaneously, making them suitable for commercial fleets and high-traffic charging hubs.
Initial installations are already operational at select ACMobility sites, including Corinthian and Legazpi, offering early access to next-generation charging for EV users.
Beyond equipment rollout, Greenstrum will provide end-to-end services, covering electrical design, installation, and maintenance—an approach aimed at ensuring network reliability as infrastructure scales up.
The collaboration reflects a broader push to close critical gaps in EV adoption, particularly around charging speed and accessibility. Faster turnaround times and more dependable infrastructure could help ease “range anxiety,” a key barrier cited by prospective buyers.
While affordability remains a central constraint in the Philippine EV market, the expansion of high-performance charging networks signals incremental progress.
Industry players say such investments are essential to supporting fleet electrification and aligning the country with regional EV trends, where convenience and charging efficiency are increasingly decisive factors.
