Manila Water assures steady supply during Holy Week

Manila Water Company said customers in the East Zone will continue to receive reliable water service throughout Holy Week, even as demand rises due to the summer season.

The company said its system is ready to handle higher water use, backed by new and additional water sources that boost supply and improve reliability.

Among these is the Wawa–Calawis Water Supply System, which helps provide water to eastern Metro Manila and Rizal. It includes the Calawis Water Treatment Plant, capable of producing up to 80 million liters per day, along with supporting facilities like the Upper Wawa Dam and Tayabasan Weir. These projects reduce dependence on Angat Dam, especially during dry months.

Manila Water also highlighted the Cardona Water Treatment Plant, which can supply up to 110 million liters per day using water from Laguna Lake, further strengthening supply.

The company said these investments are part of its long-term plan to ensure stable water service, particularly during peak periods like summer and holidays.

It added that ongoing improvements—such as plant upgrades, system optimization, and leak repairs—help reduce water losses and improve efficiency.

During Holy Week, Manila Water said all key facilities will remain operational, with personnel on standby to respond to emergencies and minimize service disruptions.
