In a major move to equip young Filipinos with vital money management skills, BPI Foundation, Inc. (BPIF) has partnered with Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) to deliver specialized financial education content and learning materials to public schools across the country.
This collaboration is part of BPIF’s FinEd Unboxed program, which aims to make financial education easy to understand, accessible, and suited to local needs. Starting July 2026, the initiative will produce new episodes of the popular educational series “Estudyantipid” and distribute Knowledge Channel TV learning packages to schools in underserved communities.
The first phase of the rollout will cover selected schools in Iloilo and Rizal, with pilot sites also set in key areas of Mindanao—specifically in Sarangani or South Cotabato, and Zamboanga or Basilan.
Hosted by actress Mutya Orquia, the new episodes are designed for high school students and will cover essential topics such as budgeting, responsible spending, how to spot and avoid online scams, and making smart financial decisions. These lessons are especially important today, as young people navigate digital transactions and need clear guidance to manage their resources wisely.
Carmina Marquez, BPIF executive director, stressed the long-term value of this project. “Our partnership with Knowledge Channel strengthens our promise of financial inclusion. By making financial education accessible and relevant, we help build a better Philippines—one family and one community at a time,” she said.
Edric Calma, KCFI vice president, shared the same goal, noting that teaching these skills early shapes future generations. “When we introduce financial concepts in fun, age-appropriate ways, we are planting seeds of responsibility, discipline, and empowerment that will benefit them for life,” he explained.
This effort marks a significant step toward raising the country’s level of financial literacy, ensuring that students are not only academically prepared but also financially capable as they grow into independent adults.
