Fast food giant Jollibee Foods Corp. wants to become the largest quick service restaurant in Vietnam having already established 158 stores in the first quarter.
Jollibee at present is the third biggest quick-service restaurant brand in Vietnam and caters to 100 percent Vietnamese customer base.
“With Vietnam’s continued economic development and growing population, we see huge growth prospects for Jollibee in the country,” Jollibee CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said.
Vietnam’s QSR segment is rapidly growing.
Year-on-year, Jollibee Vietnam posts strong double-digit systemwide and same-store sales growth, with dine-in exceeding pre-pandemic levels and off-premise channels growing by high double digits even as customers return to stores.
It opened seven new stores in 2022 and four more in the first quarter of the year and did not permanently close stores during the peak of the health crisis in the country.
To support the company’s growth plans, Jollibee established its own commissary which has capacity to support 400 stores.
Its bestselling products are its fried chicken, sweet chili chicken and sweet spaghetti, all of which have won the palate of the Vietnamese and have become a staple for Vietnamese families in the country.
“We thank our Vietnamese customers for supporting Jollibee throughout our 18 years in the country,” Tanmantiong said.
“Our continued success in Vietnam and in many other parts of the world shows that Jollibee can indeed win over the hearts of the international customer base, and we will continue expanding our presence both in Vietnam and around the globe,” he said.
Jollibee now operates in 17 countries with over 1,500 stores. Jollibee’s continuous expansion in Vietnam forms part of the Jollibee Group’s vision to become one of the top five restaurant companies in the world.
