BSP releases new book on Philippine current account trends

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas has launched Current Account Dynamics and the Philippine Economy: Developments and Prospects at its Manila headquarters.

Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. noted that understanding current account movements is key to good policy, as these flows cover trade, remittances, investments, and grants — and affect exchange rates, inflation, and overall economic stability. The book analyzes how the country’s external financial position has changed, linking it to industrial, fiscal, trade, and investment policies to guide long-term growth planning.
