Fortinet names new SVP for Asia Pacific

Global cybersecurity firm Fortinet has appointed Luca Simonelli as senior vice president for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Based in Singapore, Simonelli will lead APAC sales operations covering Japan, North Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, India and SAARC, Australia and New Zealand. He will steer regional strategy, boost partner and customer ties, and drive further growth.

Simonelli brings over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, networking, cloud security and managed services, including nearly eight years previously at Fortinet where he headed its EMEA business. He most recently held a senior role at GCX Managed Services, and holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Milan.

Fortinet executive vice president Joe Sarno noted the APAC market’s strong growth amid rapid digital transformation and AI adoption, saying Simonelli’s track record will strengthen the company’s regional leadership. Simonelli added he looks forward to leveraging Fortinet’s integrated platform to help organisations advance securely in their digital journey.
