PEMC, PERPI team up to improve electricity market operations

The Philippine Electricity Market Corp. (PEMC) and the Philippine Energy Research and Policy Institute (PERPI) have signed a three-year agreement to work together on studies aimed at making the country’s electricity market run better. The deal establishes a formal partnership for research, policy guidance and information sharing.

PEMC manages the country’s wholesale power market, while PERPI is a leading independent energy research body. Under the deal, PEMC will share non-confidential market data, and all work will focus on supporting fair, open and reliable power supply. All information will be used only for research and policy work, following privacy laws, with joint training and discussions also planned.
