Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines has expanded its early childhood education program with the opening of its 57th Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Marikina City, reinforcing efforts to improve preschool access for children in underserved communities.
Located in Barangay Sto. Niño, the new center provides a safe learning environment where young children can develop foundational literacy, numeracy and socio-emotional skills before entering formal schooling, while also giving working parents a reliable community-based preschool option.
The expansion comes as greater attention is being placed on early childhood education, which educators consider critical to improving long-term learning outcomes and preparing children for elementary school.
For Monica Dela Cruz, a tricycle driver and her family’s primary breadwinner, the center means her three-year-old son can receive quality preschool education while she continues working.
“Malaki talaga ang pasasalamat ko sa McDonald’s Philippines at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines… sapagkat matitiyak kong makakatanggap ng tamang edukasyon ang aking bunsong anak,” Dela Cruz said.
The Marikina facility brings RMHC Philippines’ Bahay Bulilit network to 57 learning centers nationwide, extending the organization’s education initiatives to more low-income communities.
“For us at McDonald’s and RMHC, making a difference in communities, especially through education, has and will always be part of who we are and what we do, from early childhood education all the way to preparing students to be workforce ready,” said RMHC Philippines Executive Director Marie Angeles.
Marikina City Mayor Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro said the partnership strengthens the city’s efforts to make quality preschool education more accessible.
“The opening of the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center reflects our shared commitment to making quality early childhood education more accessible for every child,” she said.
By expanding its Bahay Bulilit program, RMHC Philippines is investing in one of the earliest stages of human capital development, helping children build stronger educational foundations while supporting working families and strengthening communities through accessible early learning.
