Meralco Power Academy holds career talk for DLSU students

Around 500 engineering students from De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila joined the Meralco Power Academy’s (MPA) PowerConvos series to prepare for careers in the energy sector.

Top Meralco officials led the discussions: Meralco PowerGen chief Emmanuel V. Rubio, Networks head Froilan J. Savet, Corporate Communications head Joe R. Zaldarriaga, and MGEN HR chief Eillen P. Lopez. They covered industry trends, career paths, and key values like resilience, practical thinking, and purpose-driven work.

Rubio emphasized that engineering success should be measured by how it improves lives. Savet highlighted Meralco’s Smart Grid and metering innovations, noting reliable service is the core goal of all engineering work. Zaldarriaga added that strong communication and public service commitment turn skilled engineers into effective leaders.

PowerConvos connects students directly with industry experts, bridging academic learning and real-world needs. Through such partnerships, MPA aims to build the next generation of Philippine energy leaders.
