P&A Grant Thornton, PEZA team up for capability building, knowledge sharing

P&A Grant Thornton (Punongbayan and Araullo) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to boost knowledge-sharing and capability-building programs for PEZA staff, registered firms, and ecozone industry stakeholders.

As PEZA’s knowledge partner through the PEZA Academy, the accounting firm will focus on training and guidance in accounting, audit, taxation, compliance, advisory services, and other key business areas. Drawing from its experience helping businesses navigate regulatory and operational challenges, the partnership aims to strengthen standards compliance, improve business resilience, and drive sustainable growth.

The agreement was signed by P&A Grant Thornton chairman and managing partner Romualdo V. Murcia III and PEZA director general Tereso O. Panga.

“By sharing our experience and expertise, we hope to contribute to PEZA’s continuous efforts to empower its registered enterprises, enhance their competitiveness, and create lasting value for the broader business community,” Murcia said.

“Beyond enhancing individual capabilities, this partnership contributes to PEZA’s broader mission of fostering a competitive and investment-friendly business environment. A well-equipped workforce and well-informed enterprises translate into better services, stronger governance, and greater confidence among investors—qualities that reinforce the Philippines’ position as a preferred investment destination,” Panga added.

P&A Grant Thornton noted it will design learning initiatives that turn technical knowledge into practical advice, helping build more informed, capable, and resilient enterprises.
