UNIQLO is expanding its presence in Marikina with a larger store at SM City Marikina, which is set to reopen on Oct. 2 following enhancement works.
The Japanese apparel retailer temporarily closed the branch on Sept. 11 to expand its retail space and refresh the shopping environment, giving customers access to a wider selection of its LifeWear products.
The expansion comes as SM City Marikina also undergoes broader development, allowing UNIQLO to strengthen its physical retail presence alongside the mall’s growth.
UNIQLO said the store expansion reflects its strategy of growing with local communities and major retail developments while improving access to its everyday apparel offerings.
The retailer continues to invest in its physical store network while expanding its digital channels through its mobile app and online store.
Beyond retail, UNIQLO is extending its Supporting Brighter Futures Through Education initiative to Cabanatuan in partnership with SM Foundation.
Proceeds from purchases of participating AIRism Innerwear products will help fund the construction of a classroom for a selected public school in the area.
The initiative expands UNIQLO’s community programs beyond its retail operations, linking consumer purchases with education support.
The Marikina store expansion and Cabanatuan education initiative are also part of UNIQLO’s activities marking the 70th anniversary of Philippines-Japan friendship in 2026.
UNIQLO said reopening promotions and activities for the expanded SM City Marikina branch will be announced through its app, website, and official social media channels.
