Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) is targeting growing commercial vehicle demand in Mindanao as logistics, agribusiness, and cold-chain operators invest in specialized trucks to move goods more efficiently.
IPC and dealer partner North-min Auto Dealers Inc. (NMADI) showcased industry-specific vehicle configurations at the Isuzu NMADI Trucxpo 2026 on Sept. 14 and 15 at the Isuzu Cagayan de Oro showroom.
The event brought together fleet operators, cooperatives, nongovernment organizations, financial institutions, business leaders, body builders, and equipment suppliers to explore transport solutions for different industries.
“At Isuzu, we understand that businesses require transport solutions that are reliable, efficient, and aligned with their operational requirements,” IPC President Mikio Tsukui said.
The lineup included three configurations of the Isuzu TRAVIZ, a utility vehicle, refrigerated van, and aluminum van, targeting equipment and passenger mobility, temperature-sensitive deliveries, and enclosed cargo transport.
Isuzu also displayed FVR and FRR refrigerated vans for cold-chain operators handling food, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive products. The NQR Dropside was presented for construction materials, agricultural products, and other commercial cargo.
The focus on specialized vehicles reflects a broader shift in commercial transport, where operators increasingly need equipment designed around the cargo, operating environment, and regulatory requirements of their businesses.
A technical forum led by the National Meat Inspection Service covered cold-chain standards, transport regulations, and compliance requirements, giving operators guidance alongside the vehicle showcase.
IPC said the initiative forms part of its approach to providing businesses with more than commercial vehicles, including technical expertise, financing options, and access to specialized equipment partners.
“We don’t just sell trucks. We help businesses move. And when businesses move, industries move,” NMADI General Manager Nyle Balasabas said.
For Isuzu, the Mindanao strategy puts the commercial vehicle business closer to industries that depend heavily on reliable transport, from food and agriculture to construction and distribution.
