ICTSI secures 10-year loan from BDO for global expansion

International Container Terminal Services Inc., or ICTSI, announced Tuesday it has secured a $1 billion, 10-year term loan from BDO Unibank Inc., with the company serving as sole borrower. The financing supports the port operator’s broad global investment drive, backing a $740 million capital expenditure program for 2026. These funds will go toward completing Phase 3B of Contecon Manzanillo in Mexico, moving forward with projects in the Philippines, Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, purchasing and upgrading equipment, and launching new expansions in Honduras, Australia, Ecuador and Mexico.

The Razon-led firm is strengthening its financial footing following strong first-half 2026 results. Net income reached $589.98 million, up 22 percent year on year, or 25 percent to $604.69 million when excluding the one-time charge from the sale of its Yantai terminal in China. Revenue rose 27 percent to $1.92 billion and EBITDA climbed 24 percent to $1.23 billion. Second-quarter net income alone hit $296.41 million, a 21 percent increase. Through June, total volume rose 16 percent to 8.12 million TEUs, boosted by new terminals in South Africa and Indonesia, as well as improved trade across Asia and the Americas, partially offset by softer activity in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

This major long-term loan underscores strong banking sector confidence in ICTSI’s growth trajectory and financial health, giving the company reliable capital to execute its expansion plans and solidify its standing as a leading global port operator.
