Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) has secured a major industry recognition for its legal function, with AyalaLand Legal named Best Construction and Real Estate In-House Team at the ALB Philippine Law Awards 2026.
The award was presented on Sept. 24 at the Makati Shangri-La by Asian Legal Business (ALB), a Thomson Reuters publication. The annual awards recognize Philippine law firms, in-house legal teams and practitioners based on the complexity and significance of their work, as well as its commercial impact.
The recognition reflects the expanding role of ALI’s legal team in supporting business strategy alongside traditional legal and compliance responsibilities.
“This recognition reflects the role of AyalaLand Legal as a strategic partner to the business,” said ALI Chief Legal Officer and Data Protection Officer Chrysilla Carissa Bautista.
Over the past year, the team has advised ALI on complex real estate projects, construction and commercial transactions, regulatory requirements and other matters affecting the company’s nationwide operations.
Its mandate spans ALI’s diverse portfolio, including estates, residential developments, offices, malls, hotels and resorts. This requires the legal team to balance regulatory compliance and risk management with the commercial demands of project development and execution.
“Our work goes beyond providing legal advice—we help the organization navigate complexity, manage risk, and enable sound business decisions as we develop and operate communities and properties across the country,” Bautista said.
She added that the team remains focused on providing “commercially grounded counsel” to help ALI’s businesses move forward responsibly while supporting long-term growth.
The recognition highlights how corporate legal teams are increasingly involved in business decisions, risk management and project execution, positioning in-house counsel as an integral partner in navigating complex and evolving markets.
