Geely sales in September top 1,000 units on EV demand

Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) sold 1,023 vehicles in September 2026, marking its first monthly sales tally above 1,000 units since Geely Auto International took direct control of its Philippine operations.

The record month was driven largely by electrified vehicles, which accounted for 79.7 percent of total sales, underscoring the growing role of EVs and hybrids in the automaker’s local lineup.

The all-electric Geely EX2 led sales with 470 units, or about 46 percent of the monthly total. It was followed by the Geely EX5 EM-i Super Hybrid, which posted 345 units, equivalent to nearly 34 percent.

Combined, the two models accounted for 815 vehicles sold in September.

Internal-combustion models made up the remaining 208 units. The Okavango led the group with 76 units, followed by the Coolray with 53, EX5 with 31, GX3 Pro with 26 and Emgrand with 22.

GMP attributed the performance in part to its nationwide dealer network, citing MG Gateway Group, ANC+ Group of Companies and D&J Auto among its dealer partners.

The company said it expects to maintain sales momentum through the rest of 2026, supported by an expanding electrified lineup and broader brand portfolio.

Among its upcoming models is the Geely Monjaro EM-i, a flagship Super Hybrid sport utility vehicle positioned toward families and executive buyers.

GMP is also preparing to add Lynk & Co to its Philippine portfolio, expanding its presence in the premium segment as competition intensifies across the local automotive market.

While September’s results point to stronger demand for Geely’s electrified offerings, the company’s longer-term performance will depend on whether it can sustain that mix as its model range and brand portfolio expand.
