SM Prime Holdings Inc.’s major live entertainment venues attracted more than 1 million visitors in the first eight months of 2026, highlighting the growing role of events in driving traffic across its retail, dining and entertainment properties.
Attendance at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, SM Seaside Cebu Arena and SMDC Festival Grounds climbed 52 percent from about 710,000 visitors in the same period last year. The increase was supported by a steady lineup of concerts, sporting events and family-oriented shows.
Beyond ticket sales, the figures point to the broader commercial value of live entertainment within SM Prime’s integrated developments. Eventgoers can spend time at nearby restaurants, shops and other amenities before and after performances, potentially extending their visits and spending across the properties.
“Our venues provide Filipino audiences with a complete experience before, during and after a live event,” SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim said. He added that the proximity of dining, retail, entertainment and other amenities allows the company to extend the event experience while creating value across its properties.
The SM Mall of Asia Arena hosted more than 110 shows from January to August, representing an increase of as much as 20 percent from the same period in 2025.
SM Prime also broadened its venue portfolio with the opening of SM Seaside Cebu Arena in July. Its inaugural concerts featuring BINI and IV of Spades sold out, signaling early demand for the new Cebu venue.
The company expects activity to remain firm through yearend and into 2027, with a pipeline that includes concerts, Disney On Ice performances and sporting events, including the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in Cebu. For SM Prime, the expansion reinforces live entertainment as both a destination offering and a potential traffic driver for its wider property ecosystem.
