VinFast deploys EV fleet for ASEAN energy meeting

VinFast is deploying 11 electric vehicles as the official fleet for ASEAN Dialogue Partners at the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM44) in Manila, putting electric mobility on display as the region weighs cleaner and more secure energy systems.

The VF MPV 7 units will transport delegates during the Oct. 5 to 8 meetings and associated events, giving the Vietnamese automaker a high-profile platform to demonstrate battery-electric vehicles in a regional policy setting.

AMEM44 brings together energy ministers, senior officials, Dialogue Partners and international organizations to advance cooperation on energy security, renewable energy, energy efficiency and greater regional energy connectivity.

VinFast said the deployment demonstrates how EVs can serve as a practical zero-emission mobility option while supporting ASEAN’s broader sustainability goals.

The company launched the VF MPV 7 in the Philippines in May, targeting Filipino families with its seven-seat electric vehicle. The model is equipped with a 60.13-kWh battery and has a claimed range of up to 450 kilometers under NEDC standards.

Its 150-kilowatt electric motor produces 280 Newton-meters of torque, while the vehicle offers up to 1,240 liters of cargo capacity.

VinFast’s participation at AMEM44 comes as the company expands its footprint across Southeast Asia through electric vehicles, charging solutions and aftersales services.

The fleet deployment also gives VinFast an opportunity to position its vehicles within ASEAN’s broader energy transition, as governments seek to cut emissions while improving energy resilience and regional connectivity.

The company said its participation in AMEM44 and the ASEAN Energy Business Forum reinforces its commitment to working with regional partners to advance sustainable mobility and make EV adoption more accessible across ASEAN.
