Foodpanda expands MSME support amid rising costs

Foodpanda Philippines is stepping up support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as merchants contend with rising operating costs, shifting consumer habits and the accelerating move to digital commerce.

The delivery platform said it is expanding merchants’ access to technology, financing, logistics and data-driven tools as it seeks to help businesses reach more customers and build more resilient operations.

The company outlined the push at the Manila finale of its nationwide CRAVE Partner Summit and Awards 2026, which followed events in Cebu and Davao. The gatherings brought together merchant partners and industry representatives to discuss digital adoption, changing consumer behavior and the pressures facing small businesses.

For MSMEs, the shift online is creating new opportunities for market expansion while also raising the bar on digital skills, customer experience and operational efficiency.

Representatives of the Department of Trade and Industry’s E-Commerce Bureau underscored the importance of digital capabilities and broader market access as small businesses look to scale beyond traditional channels.

“Growth looks different for every business, and our goal is to help our merchant partners grow with foodpanda at every stage,” foodpanda Philippines Commercial Director Prateek Teotia said.

“Through technology, insights, market access, and stronger partnerships, we want to give businesses more opportunities to reach customers, strengthen operations, and build for the future,” he added.

Foodpanda said its merchant network can tap data insights, delivery infrastructure and advertising tools, alongside collateral-free financing through foodpanda Capital.

The company is positioning those services as a broader merchant-support ecosystem, rather than simply a delivery channel, as competition for online consumers intensifies and businesses face pressure to improve both visibility and margins.

At the CRAVE awards, foodpanda also recognized merchants for sales performance, year-on-year growth, marketing execution, operational reliability and customer ratings.

The company said it will continue to focus on demand generation, customer experience and logistics as it works with merchants to strengthen their digital presence and navigate a more competitive operating environment.
