A fall armyworm infestation (FAW) is wreaking havoc in Western Visayas, causing damage on corn crops in the region estimated at P57 million, based on initial data provided by the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said fish from Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Batangas and Metro Manila, particularly from Navotas, Parañaque and Las Piñas, were found safe for human consumption no matter the oil spilled in areas close to the Manila Bay.
