    Anjo World theme park goes green with First Gen

    Cebu-based Belmont Group, owner of the largest theme park in Visayas and Mindanao, has taken a major step toward sustainability with the signing of an agreement with First Gen Corporation for renewable energy (RE) supply. This deal, completed on 13 February 2025, will see First Gen provide 750 kilowatts of geothermal electricity to Belmont One, the mixed-use commercial complex in Minglanilla, Cebu.

    Meralco’s corporate social responsibility arm, One Meralco Foundation (OMF), has provided solar-powered mobile irrigation pumps to two cooperatives in Nueva Ecija, marking a significant step toward sustainability in the region’s agriculture. The Lupao Pag-ahon Agriculture Cooperative and the Nueva Ecija Rice, Corn, Vegetable, and Livestock Raisers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, representing around 140 farmers, will now no longer rely on costly diesel-powered pumps for irrigation.
