    Legislator bats for Meralco franchise renewal to signal economic stability and advance consumer interest

    Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Representative Rufus B. Rodriguez on Sunday called for the grant of a fresh legislative franchise to Meralco, saying a renewal sends a strong signal of economic stability to potential investors, whether local or foreign.  

    Meralco unit wins contract to build Singapore’s 100-MW LNG-fed ancillary plant

    Meralco Power Gen Corp. (MGen) affiliate firm Pacific Light Power Pte Ltd (PLP) on Wednesday announced winning the contract to build power generating units providing Singapore’s Energy Market Authority with 100 megawatts of fast start generation facility by the second quarter next year. 

    Luzon, Visayas grids report narrow power margins

    Forty-four power plants on either forced outage or de-rated capacity compelled authorities on Tuesday to place both the Luzon and Visayas grids under yellow alert as early as 8 a.m. when 2,082.2 megawatts of power were unavailable.
