Treasury bond yield down at auction on excess demand

The National Treasury offered at an auction Wednesday P20 billion of treasury bond, which were originally issued at as 7-year bonds due in October 2029 at a coupon rate of 7 percent.

It fetched an average rate of 6.099 percent—lower than the rate it fetched when the bonds were first reissued in August as well as against prevailing rate for similar maturity in the secondary market.

The entire P20 billion offer was awarded by the auction committee as today tenders reached P60.3 billion.

With the latest issuance, lifted the entire bond program to P165.40 billion.
