Basic Energy Corp. has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pangasinan 1 Electric Cooperative or PANELCO 1 to determine capacity and ensure the reliability of the electric cooperative’s distribution network ahead of the completion of Basic Energy’s 50-megaWatt solar power project.
The listed company is developing a two-phase solar farm with a battery energy storage system, with the first phase rated at 10 MW and the second phase at 40 MW.
The studies are integral to optimizing the distribution networks and enhanced reliability of PANELCO I’s existing infrastructure. The studies will assess the compatibility of PANELCO I’s transmission system and sub-stations to accommodate the solar power plant’s production, as well provide insights into the current state of the transmission system, identify the requisite improvements for optimal performance consistent with the solar power plant’s energy production.
