The wholesale price of rice continued to rise in March, with well-milled rice hitting a national average of P50.84 a kilo, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority show.
The average per kilo price of well-milled rice stood at P50.73 in February and at a much lower P39.29 in March last year.
Data show that the price of well-milled rice in March was highest in Central Visayas at P56.12 a kilo and lowest in the Ilocos Region at P45.39.
The average price of regular-milled rice in March stood at P47.44 a kilo, down from P47.69 per kilo in February but higher than the P36.17 per kilo in March last year.
For special and premium rice, the prices per kilo in March were P55.66 and P54.47, respectively, higher from the year-earlier prices of P46.63 and P42.99.
