EEI signs P1.79 billion tollway contract with Metro Pacific Tollways, unit CIC

EEI Corp., a leading construction group, said Friday it recently signed a P1.79 billion project contract with Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. for the construction of CAVITEX-CALAX link segment four.

Under the contract, EEI will remeasure and construct the 1.2 kilometer, 2×2-lane carriageway from the end of Segment 4 in Tirona Highway to connect to CALAX, or Cavite Laguna Expressway.

The construction firm will also build the Kawit Toll administration compound and access road. The contract also includes building the main alignment ramp, a main alignment elevated viaduct, Roads 1-3, and an intersection improvement in the affected portion of the Centennial Road. The duration of the project is 450 days.

The contract signing was attended by EEI senior vice president for Contracts and Commercial Division Anna Payawal Figuera, EEI vice president for Commercial Division Christopher F. Esguerra, CIC president and general manager Raul Ignacio, CIC vice president for Finance Elnora D. Rumawak and Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.  president and CEO Rogelio D. Singson.

“This latest win is a vote of trust and confidence in EEI’s expertise and experience from our partners MPTC and CIC. It is doubly meaningful not just because it’s a welcome business development but also because it enables us to share and synergize with our partners when it comes to this shared vision of doing projects that help support economic growth, improve connectivity and uplift the quality of lives of Filipinos. It is an honor to serve the private sector and the public,” EEI Corp. president and CEO Henry D. Antonio said in a statement.

EEI is a 93-year-old company which has a broad range of construction and engineering services, with expertise in the construction of infrastructure, buildings, and industrial and electromechanical facilities. It has years of contracting experience overseas  particularly in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific countries.
