    Pres. Marcos Jr. breaks ground MPTC tollway projects south of Manila

    Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. on Friday announced the start of construction of two expressway projects meant to alleviate traffic congestion south of Manila. 

    President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., led the ground breaking ceremony with executives of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. at the P2.2 billion Cavitex-Calax Link and the P4.1 billion Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B projects launch. 

    The Cavitex-Calax Link will span 1.3 km on 2-by-2 lanes linking the Cavitex and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway still under construction. 

    Raul Ignacio, president and general manager of Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), said the CCLink project is targeted for completion by August next year,in alignment with the full operations of Calax. 

    Ignacio said the 2-kilometer Cavitex C5 Link Segment 3B project connecting Cavitex Paranaque in the West and C5 Road Taguig in the East, is expected to be completed in August 2025. The segment will serve 8,000 motorists daily. 

    The Cavitex C5 Link will reduce travel time to Taguig and Pasay by 30 to 45 minutes. It will also help decongest EDSA, the MIA Road and Roxas Boulevard. 

    Also, the Cavitex C5 Link Sucat Interchange will open to the motoring public starting 6 pm today, 21 June 2024 toll free for motorists for a limited period. 

    The Cavitex C5 Link Segment 2 is a 1.9-kilometer, 2-by-3 lane expressway that connects Cavitex R1 (Coastal Road) from the Paranaque Toll Plaza to Sucat through the R-1 Interchange. 

    With the segment open, some 16,000 motorists daily enjoy reduced travel time of only 10 minutes from Cavitex to Sucat Road and vice versa.

Pangilinan, MPTC chairman said .

    “We are confident that our continued collaboration will help the Filipino people welcome even more success, and ultimately give rise to a nation that is more competitive, inclusive and united – one we can be proud to bequeath for future generations,’ he added. 

    Aside from Cavitex and Calax, MPTC holds concession rights over the North Luzon Expressway, NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway, Cebu Cordova Expressway and toll road projects in Indonesia.
