    ACEN, Barito Renewables forge partnership to advance wind energy in Indonesia

    ACEN Corp., the renewable energy platform of the Ayala group, and PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk have formed a groundbreaking partnership aimed at accelerating the development of wind energy projects across Indonesia. 
    The partnership formed by ACEN and Barito Renewables, which takes effect immediately, marks a significant step in both companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
    ACEN’s subsidiary, ACEN Indonesia Investment Holdings Pte. Ltd., and Barito Renewables’ subsidiary, PT Barito Wind Energy, will undertake the partnership. It will build on the acquisition of three wind development projects in South Sulawesi, Sukabumi, and Lombok that was announced in January. These projects, located in strategic regions, have a combined potential capacity of 320 megaWatts (MW) and will feature advanced battery energy storage systems to improve grid stability and efficiency.
    Patrice Clausse, Group Chief Investment Officer of ACEN, said the partnership with Barito Renewables is a major leap forward to enhance the Philippine-listed company’s presence in Indonesia’s renewable energy sector. “It not only supports ACEN’s regional growth strategy but also highlights our commitment to innovative and sustainable energy solutions. Together with Barito Renewables, we are poised to set new industry standards and significantly contribute to Indonesia’s clean energy objectives,” Clausse said.
    Hendra Tan, CEO of Barito Renewables, said the collaboration with ACEN represents a crucial advancement in our mission on the Indonesian company to drive sustainable energy development in Indonesia. “This strategic alliance reinforces our dedication to pioneering renewable energy solutions and fostering a greener future,” Tan said.ACEN is focused on providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy across the Asia Pacific region, with a goal of expanding its renewables capacity to 20 gigaWatts by 2030. The company is also dedicated to early coal retirement and achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
