Marcos: Pinoys must conserve energy now

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday urged Filipinos to cut energy use as fuel prices climb amid US-Iran tensions threatening global oil supply.

“Avoid unnecessary trips, maximize carpooling. Punuin naman ang inyong sasakyan at hindi isang tao lang ang nakasakay,” he said.

Government offices have been instructed to adopt conservation measures, and the public is invited to suggest practical ways to save energy. “Even small actions—turning off lights, reducing fuel use—help the country and our wallets,” Marcos added.

With gasoline up P1.90 per liter and diesel P1.20, he warned, “We face uncertainty, but responsible energy use eases the burden on every Filipino household.”
