Mimosa Plus Golf Course has made history by becoming the first golf course in the Philippines to achieve GEO Certified® status, awarded by the GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf. This prestigious certification recognizes the course’s commitment to environmental stewardship, making it a leader in sustainable practices within the golf industry.
Located in the 201-hectare Filinvest Mimosa Plus Leisure City, the award-winning golf destination features two 18-hole, par 72 courses. Currently, there are only 17 GEO Certified courses in Asia, highlighting the significance of this achievement.

Rory Young, director of Mimosa Plus Golf Course, expressed pride in this accomplishment. “To become GEO Certified is like a gold medal for all the green champions at Mimosa Plus who have worked tirelessly to ensure our course leads in sustainability,” he said.
Key sustainability initiatives at the course include using drought-resistant grasses like Zoysia Zeon and Trinity, cultivating plant nurseries on-site, and implementing tree-tagging systems to monitor the health of trees. The golf course also employs the Rainbird IC system for precise water management.
Brad Revill, GEO accredited independent verifier, commended the team’s dedication to sustainability, noting their effective communication and collaboration on environmental initiatives.
Beyond environmental efforts, Mimosa Plus Golf Course significantly impacts the local community by promoting tourism, providing job opportunities, and supporting the Aeta community. These contributions not only enhance Clark’s reputation as a golf destination but also foster economic growth.
As an open golf course, Mimosa Plus is committed to making golf accessible to everyone, encouraging Filipinos to explore the sport and nurture emerging talents in the golfing community. This achievement marks a vital step toward a more sustainable future for the sport in the Philippines.
