Aboitiz Renewables Inc., the clean energy arm of Aboitiz Power Corp., has been voted Independent Power Producer of the Year at the Enlit Asia Power & Energy Awards 2026.
Enlit Asia is ASEAN’s leading power sector gathering; its awards honor those driving the region’s shift to low-carbon energy.
The award recognizes project delivery, strategic growth, and sector leadership in the Philippines’ clean energy transition.
In four years, the firm added 846 MW of capacity: six solar plants (789 MW), a 40 MW battery system, and a 17 MW geothermal plant in Tiwi, Albay. The February purchase of the Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan hydro complex lifted total capacity from 900 MW (2022) to over 2 GW.
Four battery projects are under construction; first wind facility targets late 2026 launch.
“Credit belongs to our team. Their drive and reliable execution make this possible — we are proud to power the nation’s clean shift,” said president Jimmy Villaroman.
It operates 45 sites nationwide, with 1,000 MW more in the pipeline. The group targets 4,600 MW of renewable capacity by 2030, paired with thermal for steady supply, and total portfolio of 9,200 MW. Distribution arms include Davao Light and Visayan Electric.
