Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. said Monday its board has approved the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary in the US to lead the Philippine-listed company’s expansion in North America, especially in areas with large populations of Filipino ethnicity.
The newly-formed unit will have two main objectives—owning and operating both company-owned stores and franchises.
Shakey’s said the dual approach will enable it to establish a robust network of outlets that cater to various market segments, enhancing brand visibility and accessibility. By offering franchise opportunities, the company aims to leverage local entrepreneurs’ knowledge and resources, fostering a collaborative growth environment.
The US-based subsidiary will also be tasked to market the Shakey’s Group’s products and brands.
The registration process for the new entity is expected to be completed within 30 days, marking a significant step forward for Shakey’s.
This development not only positions the company for growth but also reflects its strategic vision of becoming a prominent player in the international restaurant industry.
Shakey’s, a member of listed Century Pacific Group Inc., operates a chain of pizza parlors, roast chicken restaurants, milk tea stores, bake shops, and potato fries outlets.
