AboitizPower unit builds Engkanto Brewery solar facility

AboitizPower Distributed Renewables Inc. (APx) has completed a 97.09 kilowatt-peak rooftop solar installation at the Engkanto Brewery. The project is expected to generate approximately 130,293 kilowatt hours (kWh) in its first year, totaling 2.6 million kWh over the 20-year contract.

The solar installation will significantly reduce the brewery’s reliance on conventional energy, decreasing its carbon footprint. Construction began earlier this year, and the system was operational by the second quarter.

Engkanto Brewery founder Ian Paradies highlighted the project’s importance for environmental sustainability, saying, “This marks an important chapter in our mission to brew quality beers while supporting environmental sustainability.”

James Byron Yu, first vice president of AdventEnergy, noted the partnership’s impact on the craft beer industry, saying, “Together, we are enhancing operational efficiency and championing sustainability.”

APx is part of AboitizPower’s AdventEnergy unit, dedicated to providing innovative energy solutions to local businesses.
