The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability is considering recommending plunder charges against Vice President Sara Duterte if she fails to account for P112.5 million in Department of Education confidential funds from 2023. House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr. said the funds were withdrawn via three checks, each worth P37.5 million, as cash advances when VP Sara was DepEd chief. Plunder, a capital crime, has a threshold of P50 million for ill-gotten wealth.
