The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) announced on Thursday that Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) will experience water service interruption due to maintenance work by Maynilad Water Services, Inc. The interruption is set for 16 hours, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on 1 November and concluding at 6:00 a.m. on 2 November.
The disruption arises from essential repairs at Maynilad’s Putatan Treatment Plant. In response, the NNIC adopted comprehensive contingency measures to ensure uninterrupted water supply for passengers and stakeholders.
The NNIC will draw from the terminal’s water reserves of 3.2 million liters stored in water tanks. Maynilad will also deploy mobile water trucks to replenish the tanks as needed throughout the interruption. To further mitigate the impact, water containers will be strategically placed in restrooms, with trucks on standby to refill them if necessary.
Passengers are urged to conserve water during this period, with NNIC recommending simple measures such as using restroom facilities sparingly and promptly reporting any leaks.
“We are committed to maintaining service standards and ensuring that our passengers are comfortable during this maintenance window,” said an NNIC spokesperson.
Travelers are encouraged to stay informed and plan accordingly as the airport navigates this temporary water service challenge.
