In a proactive move ahead of Undas 2024, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has directed its regional offices to enhance public safety and well-being during the holiday period.
In a recent memorandum, the NTC urged regional directors to collaborate with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Civic Action Groups (CAGs), and Amateur Radio Groups (ARGs) to provide essential support for public assistance operations. This initiative includes the issuance of temporary permits and licenses aimed at ensuring safe travel for all Filipinos during the observance.
Moreover, NTC Regional Offices are tasked with securing the cooperation of radio, television, and cable operators to ensure the timely dissemination of critical public service information. They will also monitor the activities of CAGs and ARGs, overseeing their coverage areas, contact details, radio frequencies, and base station locations throughout the duration of these operations.
The NTC’s commitment to fostering a safe and meaningful Undas observance underscores its dedication to public welfare during this important holiday.
