President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 Cavite Extension Project Phase 1, the first railway project completed under his administration. Phase 1 adds 5 new stations, extending the LRT-1 alignment by 6 km to a total of 26 km. It is expected to serve an additional 80,000 passengers daily, bringing the LRT-1’s total ridership to 400,000. The P64-billion extension is supported by LRMC of the Metro Pacific Group, led by billionaire Manuel V. Pangilinan, and JICA of Japan.
