The Philippines will file another diplomatic protest against China following harassment by the Chinese Coast Guard and People’s Liberation Army Navy. Philippine Coast Guard vessels near Bajo de Masinloc, a traditional fishing ground in the West Philippine Sea, were sideswiped and hit with water cannons by Chinese ships. Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo emphasized that the Philippines’ presence near the shoal was within its legal rights. Despite filing nearly 40 protests against China, harassment continues in Philippine waters.
