Smart Communications is rolling out significant upgrades to its mobile network in Metro Manila to provide faster, more reliable connectivity for millions of students, professionals, and entrepreneurs. The network enhancement includes the expansion of 4G/LTE and 5G sites across key cities, including Manila, Makati, Taguig, and Quezon City, to support growing demand for seamless mobile data experiences.
“Our ramped-up network rollout and enhancement initiatives are key to delivering unmatched customer satisfaction through superior connectivity, accelerating business growth, and reinforcing our commitment to nation-building,” said Anastacio R. Martirez, Smart chief operating officer.
As part of its strategy, Smart’s value brand TNT launched ‘TNT 5G Max’ in Bonifacio Global City, offering faster speeds and more reliable connectivity. TNT has also introduced the affordable TNT 5G Panalo Phone for just P3,990, making 5G technology more accessible to the public.
In addition, Smart has boosted 5G coverage in major venues like the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Mall of Asia Arena, and Philippine Arena, ensuring high-speed connectivity during popular events. For instance, fans at the Philippine Arena experienced download speeds 10 times faster on Smart’s 5G network compared to competitors, while users at the MOA Arena enjoyed speeds over 200 Mbps during the Gilas Pilipinas basketball game.
“We continue to invest in enhancing our mobile network to meet the needs of our subscribers, whether it’s for gaming, streaming, or sharing moments online,” said Debbie M. Hu, Smart Wireless Network head.
Smart’s network now covers 97 percent of the population, backed by PLDT Group’s extensive fiber infrastructure, and continues to drive digital progress in the Philippines.
