Globe extends ISO 45001 certification, strengthening workplace safety and health initiatives

Globe Telecom has reinforced its commitment to workplace safety by renewing its ISO 45001:2018 certification through 2027, a move that underscores the company’s focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for its employees, partners, and stakeholders. Since first earning the certification in 2019, Globe has consistently upheld the international standard, which is recognized for its robust framework for managing occupational health and safety (OH&S) risks.

The ISO 45001 certification highlights Globe’s adherence to global best practices in OH&S, including leadership engagement, hazard identification, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The company’s OH&S management system integrates tools such as the Globe Risk Assessment (GRA) Online Tool to proactively manage workplace hazards, with regular audits ensuring the system’s effectiveness.

Carlo Puno, Globe CFO, Treasurer, and CRO, emphasized that the recertification demonstrates Globe’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the health and safety of its workforce. In 2023, the company saw a notable reduction in non-disabling injuries, from 84 in 2022 to 48. Additionally, Globe has implemented various wellness initiatives, such as vaccination programs, 24/7 mental health support, and on-site fitness amenities, including a new Pickleball court, contributing to a holistic approach to employee well-being.

For businesses, Globe’s ongoing ISO 45001 certification positions the company as a leader in occupational safety, potentially enhancing its appeal to clients, investors, and talent, while mitigating operational risks related to workplace health.
