SMC Infrastructure activates holiday traffic plans to ease expressway congestion

SMC Infrastructure has implemented comprehensive traffic management plans across its expressways to address the expected surge in motorists beginning Monday, 14 April as Filipinos head to the provinces for the Holy Week. The company coordinated closely with local government units to synchronize efforts across the STAR Tollway, SLEX, Skyway, NAIA Expressway, and TPLEX.

Ramon S. Ang, SMC chairman and CEO, emphasized the importance of aligning with LGU traffic teams to prevent chokepoints, especially at interchanges connecting national highways and local roads. As part of its contingency measures, SMC has deployed more tollway personnel and emergency responders to assist travelers.

To ease toll plaza congestion, motorists are urged to use Autosweep RFID, which remains free to register, with multiple reloading options available. Roadworks on expressways have also been suspended from 11 to 21 April to ensure smoother travel during the holiday rush.
