DITO cements lead in mobile market with third consecutive Ookla top rating

DITO Telecommunity has been named the country’s top-rated mobile network for the third consecutive time, according to global network intelligence provider Ookla. The recognition marks a significant milestone in the company’s aggressive expansion and its role as a formidable challenger to long-standing incumbents in the country’s telecommunications industry.

Based on Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence data for the second half of 2024, DITO achieved a total score of 3.7—outperforming Smart (3.3) and Globe (3.2). The rating is derived from real user feedback collected via the Speedtest.net platform and app, positioning DITO at the forefront of mobile network user satisfaction in the Philippines.

“This three-peat is a strong validation of our disruptive approach and a clear signal that Filipino consumers are embracing a new era of telco service,” said DITO CEO Eric Alberto. “We will continue to invest in innovation, infrastructure, and customer experience to sustain this momentum.”

The recognition underscores DITO’s ascent as a credible third player in the highly competitive telecom sector. Since its commercial launch in 2021, the company has introduced value-for-money mobile plans and next-generation network infrastructure, making inroads into a market historically dominated by Globe Telecom and PLDT’s Smart Communications.

In addition to the Ookla accolade, DITO was recently recognized by Opensignal as the country’s Fastest Mobile Network, bolstering its commercial credibility and appeal to data-driven consumers.

The triple victory is expected to further attract strategic partnerships, bolster customer acquisition efforts, and enhance investor confidence as DITO continues scaling its operations across the country. With an expanding subscriber base and a growing suite of digital services, DITO’s trajectory could prompt broader competitive shifts within the industry.

“We are committed to nation-building by providing reliable connectivity and excellent service,” Alberto added. “This recognition fuels our mission to empower more Filipinos in the digital economy.”
