The Bank of the Philippine Islands Foundation (BPI Foundation or BPIF) and the National Teachers College (NTC) formally launched a strategic partnership aimed at advancing financial literacy and inclusive education, marked by a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
The collaboration highlights a shared commitment to nation-building through education, social development, and financial empowerment. Central to the initiative is the integration of BPIF’s flagship program FinEd Unboxed into NTC’s curriculum and community engagement activities, directly benefiting over 11,000 students, faculty, and partner communities.
“Our partnership with NTC marks a meaningful stride in advancing our advocacy for financial inclusion,” said Carmina Marquez, Executive Director of BPIF. “By equipping educators and NTC’s partner communities with essential financial knowledge and tools, we are fostering lasting change in communities across the country.”
FinEd Unboxed is a financial education initiative that has already reached more than 300,000 beneficiaries nationwide through partnerships with various organizations, including ASKI Foundation, DSWD, and Knowledge Channel Foundation. At NTC, the program will include training sessions, joint activities, and the use of custom learning modules to help future educators and leaders develop practical financial skills.
NTC President Alfredo Antonio I. Ayala emphasized the educational impact of the partnership. “At NTC, we believe that education is the great equalizer. By working with BPI Foundation, we are not only enriching the learning journey of our students but also creating a ripple effect of financial empowerment in our partner communities.”
This partnership reflects the continuing role of corporate institutions like BPI in supporting sustainable educational initiatives and empowering future generations through targeted social development programs.
