GSIS launches Digital Ginhawa Loan for gadget purchases

Government workers can now avail of up to ₱60,000 in gadget loans under the new GSIS Digital Ginhawa Loan Program, launched today by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Exclusively accessible via the GSIS Touch mobile app, the loan is payable over three years with a low 6 percent annual interest and no service fee. Proceeds are credited directly to the borrower’s GSIS ATM account within one to three banking days upon agency approval.

The program aims to help members purchase essential digital tools such as computers, tablets, and mobile phones for work or study. GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso emphasized that gadgets are now a necessity amid remote work and online learning.

The initiative builds on the success of the 2020 GSIS Computer Loan Program, which disbursed over ₱10.67 billion to more than 355,000 members.

Eligible borrowers must be active, permanent employees with no pending administrative or criminal cases and no defaulted GSIS loans (excluding housing and previous computer loans). The loan also includes Loan Redemption Insurance, ensuring full payment in case of the borrower’s death during the loan term.

GSIS encourages members to utilize the mobile app for fast, paperless applications and to support the agency’s ongoing digital transformation.
