LG’s AI laundry tech posts 3.2M sales worldwide

LG Electronics announced that its WashTower all-in-one laundry unit has surpassed 3.2 million units in global sales since its launch in 2020. The product, which combines a washer and dryer in a single space-saving design, is now available in 77 countries.

North America accounts for over 1.6 million units sold, followed by Latin America with 160,000 and Asia with 130,000. LG says the strong demand reflects growing consumer interest in convenient, energy-efficient laundry solutions.

The WashTower uses LG’s AI Direct Drive technology to detect load size, fabric type, and dirt level, then automatically adjust washing settings. It also features a dual inverter heat pump for gentle, low-temperature drying. Additional functions like Smart Pairing allow the washer and dryer to sync cycles, while a preheat feature helps shorten total laundry time.

LG plans to expand the WashTower lineup with new models, added AI features, and more color options to meet different customer needs.

The company will mark the sales milestone with promotional events in South Korea and other global markets.
